KABUL: Today, May 7, marks the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, the retaliatory military operation launched by India against Pakistan following an armed attack in the Pahalgam area of Kashmir under Indian control.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Indian government institutions shared images of Operation Sindoor on social media, saying the operation demonstrated the “unprecedented bravery, precision, and determination” of India’s armed forces.
Modi stated that the operation was a strong response to those responsible for the Pahalgam incident.
Meanwhile, Indian broadcaster Delhi Now reported that during Operation Sindoor, eight major Pakistani military air bases were precisely targeted, causing heavy damage.
The report added that since the end of the conflict, India has significantly strengthened its defense capabilities, air power, and missile systems.
Indian media, citing government officials, also reported that the country is rapidly preparing for potential future wars.
On the other hand, international affairs analysts say tensions between India and Pakistan remain serious, warning that another conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors could erupt at any moment.
Last year’s war between India and Pakistan lasted several days, with both sides claiming to have inflicted major losses on each other.
