Turkey has issued work visas to 20,000 Afghans in livestock sector, ambassador says

KABUL: Turkey’s Chargé d’Affaires to Afghanistan, Sadin Ayyıldız, has discussed issues related to Afghan migrants during a meeting with Afghanistan’s Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir.

According to a statement from the ministry, the two sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation and addressing the challenges faced by Afghan migrants in Turkey.

The Turkish diplomat described Afghanistan as an important hub for regional connectivity and said Turkish non-governmental organizations and institutions are currently engaged in humanitarian assistance and development activities across the country.

He also stated that the Turkish government has issued work visas to 20,000 Afghan citizens in the livestock sector alone, adding that efforts are ongoing to find solutions to irregular migration.

Meanwhile, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir said Afghanistan now enjoys full security and stability and possesses significant opportunities, adding that efforts are underway to make the country an active and important part of regional connectivity.
