KABUL: Israeli forces have carried out new strikes on the Gaza Strip despite the ongoing ceasefire, martyring seven people and injuring dozens more, according to media reports and medical sources.
Al Jazeera reported Friday night, citing medical officials in Gaza, that the latest attacks targeted a civilian vehicle and a residential building.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported that three people were martyred in a strike on a civilian vehicle, while four others were martyred after a residential building in the Rimal area of Gaza was hit.
According to the report, the victims included three women and one child, while the number of injured rose to 45.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed the strikes were aimed at targeting Izz al-Din al-Haddad, a senior commander in Hamas’ military wing.
Hamas has not yet commented on reports regarding the alleged targeting of the senior figure.
Reports indicate that Israel has repeatedly been accused of violating the ceasefire agreement during the more than eight months since the truce between Hamas and Israel came into effect.
