Four killed in Kenya protests over rising fuel prices

KABUL: At least four people were killed and more than 30 others injured during protests over rising fuel prices in Kenya, the country’s interior minister said.

According to  Reuters, the demonstrations erupted in several Kenyan cities after the public transport association announced a nationwide transport strike in protest against higher fuel costs.

The unrest has disrupted transportation services and increased pressure on the government to address the growing economic concerns linked to fuel price hikes.

Meanwhile, talks were held between officials from the ministries of transport and energy and representatives of the public transport sector, but no final agreement has yet been reached to resolve the crisis.
