Iran warns return to war would bring “many surprises” after lessons learned

KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi said Iran has gained significant military and strategic experience from its recent 40-day conflict with the United States and Israel, warning that any return to war would bring “many surprises” on the battlefield.
In a post published early Wednesday on X, Araghchi said Tehran had acquired greater knowledge and preparedness following the recent conflict.
The Iranian foreign minister claimed the country’s armed forces had become “the first force confirmed” to shoot down the advanced American-made F-35 Lightning II in combat.
“Months after the war against Iran began, the U.S. Congress has admitted the loss of dozens of aircraft worth billions of dollars,” he wrote.
Araghchi’s remarks came after Donald Trump warned that Washington could resume military strikes against Iran if negotiations fail.
Iranian officials have repeatedly said they do not seek war but are fully prepared for all scenarios in both diplomatic and military arenas.
