KABUL: Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, Economy Minister has said that creating employment opportunities, expanding vocational training, and strengthening the domestic economy can reduce people’s reliance on foreign assistance.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Robert Inzikoa, acting head of the Norwegian Refugee Council where the two sides discussed support for returning refugees and internally displaced Afghans.
According to the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, the acting head of the Norwegian Refugee Council reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to displaced and returning Afghans, as well as helping create employment opportunities for Afghan youth.
Qari Hanif emphasized that sustainable economic development and job creation are key to reducing poverty and decreasing dependence on external aid among vulnerable communities.
