Israel and Lebanon reach agreement on ceasefire implementation

KABUL: Israel and Lebanon have reached an agreement on the implementation of a ceasefire, a move that has raised hopes for easing regional tensions and advancing ongoing diplomatic efforts related to Iran.
According to reports citing U.S. officials, the ceasefire will take effect once Hezbollah halts attacks against Israel and withdraws its forces from designated areas in southern Lebanon.
Under the reported arrangement, the Lebanese Armed Forces will assume full responsibility for security operations in certain areas.
The agreement is said to have been brokered by the United States and is expected to contribute to broader diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and creating conditions for a wider political settlement involving Iran and the United States.
Officials have expressed optimism that the deal could help stabilize the situation along the Israel-Lebanon border and support ongoing regional peace initiatives.
