Hezbollah rejects Lebanon-Israel ceasefire agreement

KABUL: Naim Qassem, the leader of Hezbollah has rejected a proposed ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel that the United States reportedly brokered.

According to a Reuters report, Qassem said the agreement was unacceptable because no Hezbollah representative participated in the negotiations.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials have reportedly stated that Israeli forces will not withdraw from Lebanon and will continue military operations in southern Lebanon.

The development comes as Iran has reportedly made a ceasefire in Lebanon a condition for any broader peace agreement with the United States. Iranian officials have recently warned that if Israel continues its military operations in Lebanon, Tehran would support efforts to confront them.
