KABUL: A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck the south of the Philippines, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning.
According to Reuters, the quake occurred in the early hours of Monday near the island of Mindanao in southern Philippines.
Citing a source that reported information from Germany’s Geoscience Research Center, the earthquake’s epicenter was at a depth of about 10 kilometers.
So far, officials have not released reports of casualties or damage, but videos shared on social media suggest that the earthquake also caused damage.
