Leader of Tren de Aragua killed in joint U.S.-Venezuela operation, Trump says

KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that “Niño Guerrero,” the alleged leader of the Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua, was killed during a joint operation conducted by U.S. and Venezuelan forces.
According to a report by CNN, the operation took place in Venezuela’s Bolívar State, and Venezuelan authorities have also confirmed Guerrero’s death.
U.S. officials said Guerrero was wanted on allegations including drug trafficking, kidnapping, extortion, and other forms of organized crime, and a reward of $5 million had reportedly been offered for information leading to his capture.
Tren de Aragua originated in Venezuela’s Tocorón Prison and later expanded its operations across several countries in Latin America and beyond, becoming one of the region’s most prominent transnational criminal organizations.
