JD Vance: Trump may release details of Iran agreement before Friday

KABUL: The Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, has said that Donald Trump may disclose details of the preliminary agreement aimed at ending the conflict with Iran before Friday.

According to Vance, the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran is approximately one and a half pages long and broadly outlines the framework of the agreement between the two sides.

U.S. officials have stated that the Strait of Hormuz is expected to reopen at the same time as the formal signing of the agreement in Geneva on Friday.

The announcement comes as Trump attends the G7 Summit.

A special session on the situation involving Iran is also expected to be held on the sidelines of the summit, with leaders from Egypt, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates reportedly set to participate.
