Pakistani-American among eight arrested in $38 million medicaid fraud case

KABUL: U.S. authorities have arrested a Pakistani-American businessman and seven others over an alleged $38 million Medicaid fraud scheme.

According to reports, Parvez Siddiqui is accused of fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars from Medicaid through adult day care centers in Brooklyn by falsely claiming to have provided healthcare services.

Investigators allege the defendants submitted fraudulent records for services that were either never provided or delivered to only a limited number of beneficiaries.

The reports further state that Siddiqui and his associates also claimed Medicaid payments on behalf of individuals who were living outside the United States. Legal proceedings against the suspects are now underway.
