KABUL: Keir Starmer has resigned as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the Labour Party.
Before announcing his resignation, Starmer said that when he took over the leadership of the Labour Party, it was facing significant political, economic, and public confidence challenges.
He added that although some believed the party’s future was over, it had succeeded in restoring public trust in the economy, defense, and national security.
Starmer became Prime Minister after the Labour Party won the July 2024 UK general election.
