Trump: U.S. will take action if Iran violates agreement

KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the United States will take appropriate action if Iran violates the recently reached agreement or fails to uphold its commitments.
According to Reuters, Trump told reporters that, under the agreement, Iran would use part of its unfrozen financial assets to purchase American food products.
However, Abdolnasser Hemmati, the head of Iran’s central bank, rejected Trump’s claim, saying that Iran is not obligated under the agreement to buy goods from the United States.
Hemmati added that Iran is free to use the released funds to purchase any goods that are not subject to international sanctions.
