KABUL: After several days of negotiations mediated by the United States, Lebanon and Israel have signed a framework agreement aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
Both sides described the agreement as a first step toward peace and expressed hope that it would pave the way for long-term stability in the region.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the agreement provides a framework for the disarmament of Hezbollah and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon.
However, Hezbollah representatives in the Lebanese parliament have rejected the agreement, describing it as a “mistake.”
