KABUL: The death toll from the two powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela has risen to more than 920, while over 3,360 people have been injured.
China’s state news agency Xinhua reported that hundreds of people remain trapped under the rubble, and approximately 50,000 others are still missing.
Videos circulating on social media show widespread destruction across northern Venezuela, including extensive damage and the collapse of numerous buildings in the capital, Caracas.
According to the reports, the two earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, are among the strongest to hit Venezuela in more than a century, with tremors felt across large parts of the region.
