Over 8,500 foreign nationals traveled to Afghanistan in first quarter, NSIA

KABUL: Afghanistan’s National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) has announced that a total of 8,560 foreign nationals entered or departed the country through airports and official land border crossings during the first three months of the Afghan year 1405 (Hamal, Saur, and Jawza).

According to a statement from the NSIA, 4,568 foreign nationals entered Afghanistan during the period, while 3,992 others departed the country.

The report states that of those who entered Afghanistan, 4,503 arrived through land border crossings and 65 entered via airports, said the statement, adding that among the arrivals, 609 individuals traveled to Afghanistan to visit the country’s historical and archaeological sites, while the remaining visitors entered primarily for work-related purposes.

The National Statistics and Information Authority noted that the figures reflect continued movement of foreign nationals through Afghanistan’s official entry and exit points during the first quarter of the current year.
