KABUL: India’s Ministry of External Affairs has strongly condemned the Pakistani military’s airstrikes on Afghan territory, stating that the attacks resulted in the deaths and injuries of several civilians, including women and children.
In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry described the strikes as a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and a direct threat to regional peace and stability.
The statement said that the attacks reflect the Pakistani military’s “reckless behavior” and demonstrate Islamabad’s attempt to conceal its domestic failures through acts of violence in Afghanistan.
India’s Foreign Ministry expressed condolences to the families of those martyred and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. It also reiterated India’s firm support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
The statement comes after Pakistani military airstrikes on Sunday night targeted parts of the Afghan provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar, reportedly killing 36 civilians and injuring 163 others.
