KABUL: Venezuelan authorities have announced that the death toll from two devastating earthquakes in the country has risen to 2,954, while the number of injured has surpassed 16,000.
According to officials, more than 16,000 people have also been displaced and left homeless as a result of the earthquakes.
Authorities said that emergency response and relief operations remain ongoing, and that more than 22,000 affected individuals have received medical treatment so far.
In addition, nearly 30,000 government personnel have been deployed to the earthquake-stricken areas to assist victims and support rescue and recovery efforts.
Officials have warned that the humanitarian impact of the disaster remains severe, as emergency teams continue search, rescue, and relief operations across the affected regions.
