Kyiv hit by major Russian missile and drone attack ahead of NATO Summit

KABUL: Ukraine’s Air Force has reported that Russia launched a large-scale attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, early today, using ballistic missiles and drones, as a result of which residential buildings were damaged, and widespread fires were triggered across parts of the city.
According to a report by CNN, at least eight people were killed, and dozens more were injured in the attacks.
The assault comes ahead of a major NATO summit scheduled to be held in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, where leaders of the alliance, including U.S. President Donald Trump, are expected to discuss key security and defense issues.
Just hours before the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia was preparing for a new large-scale offensive operation.
