KABUL: Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, says the Islamic Emirate has provided broad ease to support industrialists and investors and has allocated 150,000 jeribs of land across several provinces for the development of industrial parks.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Fifth National and International Industry and Mining Week Exhibition on Tuesday, Azizi said that during the past year, land was allocated to 576 companies for the establishment of factories, while nearly 3,000 jeribs were distributed to investors for industrial projects, according to Omid Radio correspondent.
Since the Islamic Emirate returned to power, operating licenses have been issued to 5,900 companies, said Minister Azizi, adding that around 2,000 types of goods, including pharmaceuticals, are now being produced domestically, and that Afghanistan has achieved self-sufficiency in 300 products and commodities.
Azizi urged Afghan citizens to support locally manufactured products and invited foreign investors to invest in the country’s industrial sector.
He also said the government would provide special ease, including tax concessions and issuing licensing procedures, for investors willing to invest in priority sectors of Afghanistan’s economy.
