KABUL: The National Development Corporation said in a statement today that the second major Jabal Siraj cement factory in Parwan province will be constructed using modern technology and in line with international standards.
The factory will have the capacity to produce 5,000 tons of cement within 24 hours, said the statement, adding that the construction and financing costs of the project will be fully covered by the National Development Corporation.
According to the statement, all stages of production, including clinker manufacturing, cement processing, and packaging, will be carried out inside Afghanistan, and the project will help reduce the country’s dependence on imported cement.
The statement added that automated production systems and global environmental protection standards have been considered in the design and construction of the factory to improve production quality and reduce air pollution.
The National Development Corporation emphasized that once operational, the factory will better meet the needs of Afghanistan’s construction sector, help lower cement prices, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the expansion of the country’s industrial capacity.
