KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation says 638 Afghan nationals have been released from Pakistani prisons and returned to Afghanistan.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said the individuals were released during the current week and re-entered the country through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
According to the statement, those released include family members, single individuals, and medical students who had been detained by Pakistani police for lacking valid legal residency documents.
The ministry added that after returning to Afghanistan, the released Afghan nationals received humanitarian assistance before being transported to their home areas.Germany to begin deporting Afghans without criminal records
