Mullah Baradar: New Jabal al-Siraj cement plant to drive Afghanistan’s industrial growth

KABUL: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, said the launch of construction on the second major cement production plant in Jabal al-Siraj, Parwan Province, represents not only the establishment of a new factory but also a significant step toward Afghanistan’s industrial development, economic self-reliance, stronger domestic production, and long-term prosperity.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, Baradar stated that Afghanistan possesses vast natural resources, human potential, and a strategic geographic location that provide strong opportunities for industrial development. He added that the Islamic Emirate’s economic policy places special emphasis on achieving this objective.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that expanding the industrial sector and increasing domestic production would play a vital role in boosting economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and reducing the country’s dependence on imports.

According to officials, the second Jabal al-Siraj cement plant will have the capacity to produce 5,000 tons of cement every 24 hours.
