KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, has announced new tax reductions of up to 50 percent for several categories, including legal entities, individuals, goods transportation, and oil and gas imports.
Speaking at a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center, Hanafi said the tax discounts would range from 10 to 50 percent and would apply to four categories: legal entities, individuals, transportation of goods, and petroleum and gas imports.
He added that individuals with a monthly income of up to 120,000 Afghanis will now be fully exempt from paying taxes.
The move is part of the government’s announced efforts to provide tax relief and create greater financial support for businesses and citizens.
