Regional tensions rise as explosions reported in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Yemen

KABUL: Security tensions have intensified in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Yemen, with Iranian media reporting explosions near U.S. military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said a nationwide emergency warning siren was activated for a second time as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, Yemeni sources reported that the country’s air defense systems engaged military aircraft over Saada province. They also said Saudi warplanes continued flying over the area, while several explosions were reported in the vicinity of Saada.

At the same time, Axios, citing U.S. officials, reported that President Donald Trump expressed support for potential Saudi military action against Yemen during a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
