“Petrol, diesel and gas hoarders will face legal actions”

HERAT: Shaikh Maulana Islamjar, Governor of Herat, has emphasized cooperation between the government and the private sector to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel and improve public access to fuel.

According to a statement from the Herat governor’s office, the governor said fuel prices should decrease in the local market, warned that individuals found hoarding petrol, diesel, or liquefied gas (LPG) would face legal action in accordance with the law.

Islamjar further urged traders to stand alongside the public and work with government authorities to help reduce economic difficulties, meet people’s needs, and maintain market stability.

The remarks were made during a meeting with members of the Herat Petroleum Importers Association, attended by the provincial Director of Industry and Commerce, the head of the state-owned Herat Oil and Gas Company, and representatives of the province’s fuel station association.
