KABUL: Three people were martyred and five others injured in a traffic accident in Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of Afghanistan’s Baghlan province, local authorities said.
According to a statement from the Baghlan governor’s media office, the crash occurred in Hussain Khail village when two passenger cars—a Toyota Corolla and a Suzuki Swift—collided.
Preliminary findings indicate that one vehicle was traveling from Pul-e-Khumri toward Baghlan-e-Markazi District, while the other was heading in the opposite direction. Officials said one of the vehicles veered out of its designated lane before colliding with the oncoming car.
The victims included one man, one woman, and one child, while the injured comprised two men and three children.
Police officers transferred the injured to a nearby medical center for treatment.
