KABUL: Residents of Wana, the administrative center of South Waziristan, have staged protests against rising petrol and diesel prices and worsening insecurity.
According to reports, protesters chanted slogans against the Pakistani government and called on authorities to take serious measures to address economic hardships and improve security in the region.
The protesters said that, in addition to rising petrol and diesel prices, the cost of food and other essential goods has also increased, further worsening the economic difficulties faced by local residents.
They also expressed concern over growing insecurity in South Waziristan and called for improved security and better living conditions.
The protests come amid continuing concerns over the economic situation and daily lives of civilians in Pakistan’s tribal areas, including South Waziristan, where insecurity and security operations remain ongoing.
