KABUL: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says the Afghan government cooperated with Tehran during the war to prevent foreign elements from entering Iran and creating instability in the country.
Pezeshkian said Afghanistan had instructed its security forces to monitor the movement of foreign nationals and prevent anyone from using Afghan territory to create insecurity and chaos in Iran.
He added that Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Russia and Iraq also cooperated closely with Iran, while talks with Azerbaijan produced positive results.
According to the Iranian president, cooperation from these countries helped thwart what he described as a U.S. plan to create instability and disorder inside Iran.
