KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation said that it has issued operating licenses to nearly 1,000 transport companies over the past five years.
The ministry said on X that during this period, 528 freight transport companies and 333 passenger transport companies were registered and granted operating licenses.
According to the ministry, the licenses were issued by its Directorate for Regulation and Provision of Transport Services.
The ministry added that, alongside registering transport companies, operating licenses have also been issued to hundreds of branches and representative offices of these companies over the past five years.
The ministry said these companies and their branches are currently involved in passenger transportation and the movement of commercial goods.
