KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said that 875 Afghan migrants have been released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan during the current week.
In a statement issued today, the ministry said the 810 Afghans were returned via Torkham and 65 others entered via Spin Boldak.
The ministry said the returnees included both families and individuals who had been arrested for lacking legal documentation and had spent varying periods in Pakistani prisons.
According to the statement, the released Afghans were provided with necessary assistance before being transported to their respective areas.
It also called on international organizations to continue supporting migrants, facilitating their return, and helping provide a safe and humane environment for returnees.
