Nearly 60 kilograms of drugs seized in Maidan Wardak and Badakhshan

KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs has said that nearly 60 kilograms of narcotics have been seized in Maidan Wardak and Badakhshan provinces.

The ministry said on X that anti-narcotics forces seized 34 kilograms of drugs in Daraim district of Badakhshan and another 25 kilograms in Saydabad district of Maidan Wardak.  

According to the ministry, four people were arrested in connection with the trafficking of drugs, and their cases have been transferred to judicial organs for further investigation.

Since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power a strict ban has been imposed on the production, trafficking and trade of narcotics across Afghanistan, and dozens of drug-processing facilities have reportedly been discovered and destroyed over the past five years.
