KABUL: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, says Iran achieved a political and military victory in its war with the United States and Israel.
Speaking to reporters, Ghalibaf claimed that the U.S. and Israel had pursued nine objectives during the conflict but failed to achieve any of them, describing their outcome as an “absolute defeat.”
He added that the Iranian people have the right to celebrate what he described as a victory.
Ghalibaf’s remarks come amid sharply differing accounts from Iran, the United States and Israel over the outcome and military and political gains of the conflict.
