Mullah Baradar: Afghanistan must avoid dependence to preserve its independence

KABUL: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Afghanistan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, said that the country did not achieve its independence easily and must learn from the failures of foreign powers in Afghanistan.

Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Defense to mark the 107th anniversary of Afghanistan’s Independence, Baradar stressed that preserving the country’s independence requires avoiding political and economic dependence.

He also emphasized the importance of providing access to modern education and technology to strengthen Afghanistan’s capacity and self-reliance.

Baradar called on opponents and those disrupting security to refrain from fueling internal conflicts and instead cooperate with the government in rebuilding the country.

He added that major economic projects have already been implemented and that efforts are continuing to expand development and economic projects across Afghanistan.
