More than 320 Afghans released from Pakistani jails and returned home

KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said that 322 Afghan migrants were released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan during the past week.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said the 309 Afghan nationals entered the country through the Torkham and 13 others through the Spin Boldak crossing.

According to the statement, the returnees included families and individuals who had been detained for lacking legal documentation and had spent varying periods in Pakistani prisons.

The returnees were provided with necessary assistance before being transferred to their respective areas, the ministry said.

The ministry also called on international organizations to continue supporting Afghan migrants, facilitating their return and helping provide a safe and humane environment for returnees.
