Trump Administration proposes ending 60-day grace period for H-1B workers

KABUL: The Trump administration has proposed eliminating the 60-day grace period that allows H-1B visa holders and some other foreign workers to remain in the United States after losing their jobs.

According to Reuters, H-1B workers currently have up to 60 days after losing their jobs to find new employment and maintain their legal status in the United States.

If the proposal takes effect, holders of these work visas would be required to leave the United States after losing their jobs.

The proposal has not yet been finalized and has been published for a two-month public comment period before any final decision is made.
