KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Pakistan’s acting ambassador in Kabul was summoned and handed a formal protest over what it described as violations of Afghan airspace and Pakistani military strikes on civilian areas and facilities in Kunar and Paktika provinces.
In a statement, the ministry said the Islamic Emirate considers the attacks a clear violation of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity and strongly condemns them.
The ministry also strongly rejected claims that recent security incidents in Pakistan originated from Afghan territory.
It said that making what it described as baseless allegations and using them to justify military actions amounted to an attempt to distort facts and mislead public opinion.
The Islamic Emirate called on Pakistan to focus on identifying and addressing the actual causes of its security and political problems instead of blaming other countries and attributing domestic challenges to external factors.
