KABUL: Hundreds of thousands of Palestinian children have returned to schools in Gaza after a nearly three-year disruption, but many are still studying in damaged buildings, temporary classrooms and tents.
Local officials say around 660,000 students have been deprived of regular, in-person education because of the war.
The head of education in Khan Younis said about 22,000 students and more than 770 education workers, including 532 teachers, were martyred during the war.
One student in Khan Younis said they had returned to school after nearly three years but still lacked proper shoes, notebooks, and a pen.
