KABUL: Iranian Judiciary spokesman Ali Kazemi said U.S. government officials have been sentenced to pay $48 billion in damages in a case related to the killing of Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.
Kazemi said the process of enforcing the court ruling has begun, adding that 3,173 people have been registered as plaintiffs in the case.
He also said 73 people are being pursued in connection with the criminal aspect of the case.
Soleimani, who commanded Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force, was killed on Jan. 3, 2020, in a U.S. airstrike near Baghdad International Airport in Iraq.
