U.S. sanctions individuals and entities accused of supporting Hamas

KABUL: The U.S. Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on several individuals and entities over allegations that they provided financial support to Hamas.
According to the Treasury Department, the sanctions target a member of Hamas’ military wing, two individuals based in France and two affiliated entities.
The department said the individuals and organizations had used a financial network involving charitable organizations and digital assets to transfer more than $2 million to Hamas over several years.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington would continue identifying and targeting individuals and networks involved in providing financial resources to Hamas.
The sanctions are part of broader U.S. efforts to disrupt Hamas’ financial networks and sources of funding.
