Wakhan road worth 365 million Afghanis completed, Mansour

KABUL: Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, says the Wakhan road has significant economic and transit value for Afghanistan and could play an important role in expanding the country’s transit connectivity.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Wakhan road, Mansour said the 121-kilometer development project cost 365 million Afghanis and included the construction of four major bridges.

The Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development added that development projects being implemented across Afghanistan are being carried out with the support and expertise of domestic engineers.

Mansour also said that, alongside road construction, work is underway on electricity projects across the country, with the aim of enabling Afghanistan to become self-sufficient in the energy sector as well.
