KABUL: The White House has ordered restrictions on a satellite communications system used by Ukraine’s military for communications and drone operations, Reuters reported, citing U.S. officials.
According to the report, the U.S. Department of War has been instructed to restrict SpaceX’s Starshield services for the Ukrainian military. Starshield is the military version of Starlink.
Ukrainian officials, meanwhile, said Starlink equipment installed on fast-moving military vehicles and equipment had stopped working in recent days.
They said the disruptions had also affected Ukraine’s drone operations.
