KABUL: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone over the Strait of Hormuz.
The ISNA news agency, citing the IRGC, reported that the U.S. drone was targeted and destroyed by the IRGC’s Aerospace Force over the strait early Tuesday.
The IRGC said the drone was the 54th U.S. MQ-9 aircraft to have been targeted in such operations.
The United States has not yet commented on the claim.
