KABUL: Mawlavi Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, executive director of the state-owned Afghan Gas Company, has held talks with officials from Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas company and the TAPI project on expanding the Herat gas pipeline, extending distribution networks and strengthening technical cooperation.
Mawlavi Mohammad Nabi Bahar, spokesperson for the General Directorate of State-Owned Companies, said the meetings took place on the sidelines of an international oil and gas conference in Turkmenistan.
He said the discussions emphasised expanding technical and commercial cooperation, adopting modern technology, exchanging professional expertise and attracting investment in Afghanistan’s gas sector.
Meanwhile, Mansour described the use of advanced equipment and standardised technology in gas extraction, transportation and distribution as key priorities for Afghan Gas.
