Technical assessment conducted for restoration of Malalai of Maiwand Mausoleum in Kandahar

KABUL: Shaikh Abdul Rahman Tayebi, Deputy Information and Culture Minister of for Culture and Arts, has led a technical delegation to visit the Maiwand Martyrs’ Shrine and the mausoleum of Malalai of Maiwand in Kandahar province.
The ministry said the visit aimed to assess the condition of the historic sites and identify their conservation and restoration needs.
According to the ministry, an initial technical assessment of the historic structures has been carried out and based on the findings, necessary measures will be taken for their preservation and comprehensive restoration.
The Ministry of Information and Culture described the Maiwand Martyrs’ Shrine and Malalai of Maiwand’s mausoleum as historic symbols of sacrifice and Afghanistan’s struggle for independence.
