BEIJING: Speaking in a press conference, Lin Jian, the spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the country’s negotiations with the U.S. regarding Nuclear Arms Control have been suspended.
Jian attributed this action by the country to a response to the U.S. selling weapons to Taiwan.
Jian placed the responsibility for the consequences of the decision by Beijing on Washington.
“China remains committed to maintaining contacts related to negotiations on nuclear arms control, but Biden must respect China’s core interests,” Jian said.
Taiwan is an island neighboring China, which Beijing claims as its own territory.
