Hamas rejects new U.S. ceasefire proposal for Gaza

KABUL: The Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas has rejected a new U.S. proposal for a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, media reported.

This proposal was recently sent by the U.S. to Hamas to secure their agreement.

The U.S. and Israeli officials stated that the proposal was rejected due to contradictions with a previous U.S. plan that had been approved by Hamas.

Earlier, in May of this year, the U.S. had also sent a ceasefire proposal to Hamas, which was accepted by the movement.

It is reported that the new U.S. proposal includes changes compared to the earlier plan for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The proposal comes at a time when the Zionist regime attacked two schools in refugee camps in Nuseirat and Al-Shati, resulting in the deaths of 40 Palestinians and injuries to nearly 58 others.
