Minister Muttaqi, Indian envoy discuss visa issuance for Afghan citizens, traders

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with India’s special envoy JP Singh, here in Kabul, the ministry’s deputy spokesman Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, in the meeting the two sides discussed political and economic bilateral relations between Kabul and New Delhi, as well as the movement of citizens between Afghanistan and India.

Expressing hope for the expansion of relations between the two countries in various fields, Minister Muttaqi emphasized the need to facilitate visa issuance for Afghan citizens, particularly for traders, to enhance economic and commercial relations.

Meanwhile, JP Singh called relations between India and Afghanistan as significant and mentioned ongoing technical discussions with the Islamic Emirate’s institutions. He assured that there would be improvements in the visa issuance process for Afghan nationals.
