German government faces potential collapse

KABUL: The German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz is facing a vote of confidence in Parliament and is expected to fail in the process.

The Associated Press reported that if Scholz does not secure the confidence vote, his government will collapse, leading to elections in this major European economy seven months earlier than scheduled. Meanwhile, leaders of several major political parties in Germany have agreed to hold parliamentary elections on February 23, 2025.
